Terms of Service
These terms explain how Kinda works, what we expect from users, and the responsibilities that come with giving or receiving help.
Last updated: 4 September 2026
- Kinda connects independent adults; it does not organise or supervise their arrangements.
- Help and gifts on Kinda are freely given. Payment, tips and commercial solicitation are not allowed.
- Use your own judgement, take sensible safety precautions and leave any interaction that feels unsafe.
- Identity and trust features provide useful signals, not a guarantee that someone is safe or suitable.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Kinda Helps Ltd (“Kinda”, “we”, “us” or “our”) when you visit kindahelps.com, join our waitlist, create an account or use the Kinda mobile application and related services (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer, and any Community Standards or safety notices made available in the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use Kinda
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
You must provide accurate, current information; keep your login details secure; and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You must not impersonate another person, create an account for someone else, share your account, maintain duplicate accounts to evade restrictions, or create a new account after suspension or termination.
2. What Kinda does
Kinda is a digital matching and communication platform through which independent adults can voluntarily offer, request or arrange acts of kindness, companionship, assistance, lifts, gifts and, where enabled, borrowing.
Kinda provides the technology that helps users find and communicate with one another. We do not provide, organise, supervise, inspect, direct or control user-to-user activities. We are not a party to those arrangements and are not an employer, employment agency, contractor, transport provider, carrier, care provider, healthcare provider, property inspector, guarantor or insurer. Users cannot make commitments or statements on Kinda’s behalf.
3. Free and non-commercial use
Kinda is a free kindness platform, not a marketplace for paid work or commercial services.
You must not use Kinda to:
- request, offer, accept or require payment, tips, deposits, commissions, gift cards, cryptocurrency or anything else of monetary value;
- require a favour, service, gift or other benefit in return;
- advertise a business, recruit workers, solicit customers or promote paid services;
- move an arrangement off Kinda to request payment or avoid these rules; or
- claim that Kinda employs, approves, recommends or endorses you.
A recipient never owes compensation or a reward. Any user who requests or accepts payment acts independently and in breach of these Terms. Kinda is not responsible for payment, non-payment, refunds, taxes, licensing, insurance or disputes arising from that activity.
4. Your responsibility
You are responsible for your decisions, conduct, communications, listings and arrangements. You must decide whether another user, item, task, vehicle, place or arrangement is suitable; what personal information to share; and what checks or precautions are appropriate.
Before offering help, make sure you have the health, ability, competence, qualifications, licence, permission, equipment and insurance required. You can refuse, cancel or leave an interaction at any time. Never continue because you feel pressured or obliged.
5. Identity and trust features
Verification, badges, reviews, ratings, trust scores, contribution counts and profile information provide limited signals only. Unless we clearly say otherwise, they are not criminal-record checks, safeguarding checks, professional verification, references, recommendations, endorsements or guarantees.
Successful identity verification does not prove that a person is honest, safe, qualified, insured or suitable. Do not rely solely on a badge, review, score or verified status when deciding whether to interact.
6. Personal safety
Take precautions appropriate to the situation. For example:
- meet in a public place and tell someone you trust where you are going;
- arrange your own transport and keep your phone available;
- avoid sharing unnecessary financial, identity or location information;
- check relevant identification, qualifications, licences and insurance; and
- end the interaction immediately if you feel unsafe.
Kinda is not an emergency service and does not monitor interactions in real time. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police or the relevant emergency service first.
7. Prohibited conduct
You must not use Kinda to:
- harm, threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, exploit, abuse, discriminate against or deceive anyone;
- commit or facilitate violence, theft, fraud, criminal damage, sexual misconduct, trafficking, grooming or any unlawful act;
- pressure someone to enter a home, vehicle, private location or arrangement;
- solicit romantic or sexual activity, sexual services or explicit material;
- obtain money, passwords, financial details, identity documents or account access;
- promote hatred, terrorism, self-harm or dangerous or illegal activity;
- distribute malware, scrape data or interfere with Kinda’s systems;
- misuse another person’s data, images, messages or location;
- carry weapons, illegal drugs or dangerous items; or
- provide false information or create an unreasonable risk of harm.
8. Children and vulnerable people
Kinda accounts are for adults only. You must not use Kinda to arrange unsupervised childcare, access to a child, fostering, adoption, intimate personal care or an activity requiring formal safeguarding approval unless we launch a separately governed service that expressly permits it. A responsible adult must supervise any child present during an interaction.
You must never exploit someone’s age, disability, loneliness, illness, finances, dependence or vulnerability. Report suspected abuse, exploitation or safeguarding concerns promptly.
9. Regulated and high-risk activities
Unless Kinda expressly introduces a separately governed service, do not use Kinda for:
- medical diagnosis, treatment, medication or emergency care;
- legal, financial, investment or other regulated professional advice;
- electrical, gas, structural or safety-critical work requiring certification;
- intimate personal care or administration of medication;
- security services, weapons, or activities requiring specialist insurance, licensing or safeguarding clearance that the user does not hold; or
- any task that is unsuitable for an informal volunteer arrangement.
10. Lifts and transportation
Kinda only enables communication about voluntary lifts. We are not a transport operator, taxi service, carrier or ride-hailing provider and do not inspect vehicles or supervise journeys.
Drivers must have a valid licence, be authorised and medically fit to drive, maintain a safe and legally compliant vehicle, hold insurance that covers the proposed lift, obey road and passenger-safety laws, and never request payment or fuel money. Passengers must behave safely. No unaccompanied person under 18 may be transported through a Kinda arrangement.
11. Gifts, food and borrowed items
Gifts and other items
A giver confirms they own the item or may give it away, have described it accurately and disclosed known faults or hazards, and that the item is lawful and not stolen, counterfeit, recalled or subject to another person’s rights. Prohibited items include weapons, controlled substances, prescription medication, illegal or recalled products, unsafe electrical goods, tobacco, vaping products and anything posing an unreasonable risk.
Kinda does not own, store, inspect or test items. Recipients must inspect an item and decide whether it is safe and suitable before collecting, installing, consuming or using it.
Food and allergens
Anyone offering food must store and describe it safely and disclose relevant ingredients, allergens, use-by information and known contamination risks. Recipients must make their own checks before accepting or consuming food. Kinda does not prepare, inspect or test food.
Borrowed property
Where borrowing is enabled, the borrower is responsible for the item from collection until safe return. They must follow instructions, take reasonable care, return it on time and are responsible for loss, damage or harm caused by misuse. Kinda does not insure property.
12. User content and communications
You are responsible for profiles, listings, photographs, reviews, messages and other material you submit (“User Content”). It must be accurate and lawful, respect intellectual-property, privacy and data-protection rights, and contain no confidential information you are not entitled to disclose.
You keep ownership of your User Content. You grant Kinda a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, display and distribute it only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, moderate, improve and promote the Service. This licence ends when content is deleted, except where retention is legally required, technically necessary for backups or connected to a dispute.
Messages may only be used for legitimate Kinda activities. Spam, unsolicited advertising, romantic or sexual solicitation and attempts to obtain money are prohibited. Personal information received from another user may only be used for the specific interaction, kept reasonably secure and deleted when no longer needed.
13. User-to-user arrangements and risk
Meeting people first encountered online carries risks, including dishonesty, theft, fraud, property damage, road accidents, defective items, allergic reactions, physical injury, emotional distress, harassment, assault and other criminal conduct. You are responsible for taking reasonable care and deciding whether to proceed.
Arrangements are made directly between users. Claims about another user’s conduct, an item, journey, activity, loss or damage should normally be brought against the responsible user. Kinda may offer limited assistance but is not required to mediate, determine fault, enforce arrangements, recover property, obtain refunds or pay compensation.
14. Insurance
Kinda does not provide insurance for users, activities, vehicles, homes or items. You must decide whether motor, household, public-liability, professional, travel, pet or other insurance is required and confirm that your policy permits the proposed activity. Any document check does not guarantee that a policy remains valid or covers a particular event.
15. Reporting, moderation and enforcement
Report suspected fraud, payment requests, threats, serious misconduct, dangerous activity, illegal content and safeguarding concerns using our reporting tools or by emailing safety@kindahelps.com.
Where permitted by law, Kinda may investigate, preserve or remove content, warn users, limit features, refuse registration, suspend or terminate accounts, prevent re-registration, cancel an arrangement shown in the Service, and share information with emergency services, regulators, safeguarding bodies or law-enforcement authorities. Moderation does not mean that every user, message or activity has been checked. Where required, we will provide reasons and an appropriate complaints or appeal route.
16. Intellectual property and use of the Service
Kinda and its licensors own the Service, brand, software, design and content other than User Content. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You must not copy, sell, reverse engineer, bypass security, use automated extraction, or use Kinda’s branding without permission, except where the law expressly allows it.
17. Availability and third-party services
We do not promise that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, test, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Third-party links and integrations are governed by their own terms and privacy notices and are not an endorsement by Kinda.
18. Kinda’s responsibility
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or mandatory consumer rights.
We are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss directly caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss caused by another user’s independent conduct, inaccurate information supplied by a user, unauthorised paid activity, or events outside our reasonable control, unless the law makes us responsible. We do not exclude responsibility for our own negligence or breach of law.
If you use Kinda for business purposes in breach of these Terms, we are not responsible for loss of profit, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
19. Claims caused by your misconduct
If your fraud, deliberate or reckless misconduct, unlawful activity, infringement of another person’s rights or material breach causes a third party or authority to make a claim against Kinda, you may be required, where fair and lawful, to reimburse our reasonable and proportionate losses and legal costs directly resulting from your conduct. This does not cover loss caused by Kinda’s negligence or breach of law.
20. Account closure and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of a material breach, risk to another person, suspected fraud, unlawful activity, platform security or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we will explain the decision and any available appeal route. Terms concerning content, liability, disputes and governing law continue where reasonably necessary after closure.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, risks or law. We will give advance notice of material changes where reasonably practicable and legally required. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using Kinda and close your account.
22. General legal terms
These Terms and the policies incorporated into them form the agreement between you and Kinda. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. No person who is not a party may enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain any mandatory rights provided by your local law and may bring proceedings in any local courts available to you under applicable consumer law.
